What’s the alternative to Trump’s Gaza plan?

I really want to know

I’ve written two other articles on this subject, one short (How to Make Trump’s Gaza Plan Work) and one long (The Only Real Problem with Trump’s Gaza Plan). This one will be shorter than the short one.

If you don’t like Trump’s plan, or think it can’t happen, what’s your alternative?

What should happen instead?

Please tell me in the comments. I’m genuinely curious. Here are the questions I’d like you to consider and answer…

Should Gaza be rebuilt or left as rubble?

If you think it should be left as rubble, what would you do with the Gazans? Would your plan for them make their lives worse or better? Would it increase or decrease violence?

Do you want to move the Gazans into Israel and have Israel become Palestine?

How would you make that happen?

Would your plan save lives or cost lives?

If your plan succeeded would the new Palestine be better at protecting human rights than Israel is, or worse?

Would your new Palestine be a Sharia state? Sharia is Islamic law. Do any existing Sharia states have a better human rights record than Israel?

What’s your evidence for any claims you make about this?

Do you want to rebuild Gaza as part of a two-state solution?

If so, how will you persuade the Gazans to accept that? Nearly all of them reject the two-state solution. They insist on destroying Israel and ruling from the river to the sea.

If you could persuade the Gazans to accept two states how would you then convince the Israelis?

Most Israelis used to support two states, but when they signed the Oslo Accords to move in that direction the Palestinians rewarded them with suicide bombers. After that, and the October 7th Massacre, the Israelis have understandable trust issues. A majority now opposes having two states.

The two-state idea has been on the table for nearly a century. The Palestinian Arabs have always rejected it. The existence of Israel on formerly Islamic territory violates traditional interpretations of Islamic law. How do you propose to change that?

What fairy dust would you use?

If you want to rebuild Gaza for the Gazans who will pay for it?

How will you entice or compel someone to fund the reconstruction? What’s their incentive? What’s their motive? What will they get in return? Specifically…

Israel

Why would Israel rebuild Gaza, considering that the Gazans have attacked them constantly, and even waged war against them in 2008, 2014, 2021, and 2023? Why would Israel do it given that nearly all Gazans want to destroy Israel?

The oil Arabs

Why would the oil Arabs rebuild Gaza? Why wouldn’t they expect it all to be ruined again in just a few years? How would you entice or compel them to risk their money on this?

America

Why would America rebuild Gaza for the Gazans? Why would they expect any result other than continued war and destruction followed by more expensive rebuilding?

What about the transition?

If you want to rebuild, will the Gazans have to live in tents until the work is done? Or would you move them somewhere else, temporarily, like to Jordan or Egypt, for instance? If so, isn’t that perilously close to what Trump proposes?

Finally…

Why is your plan better or more likely than Trump’s plan?

Don’t be chicken. If you’ve made statements opposing or belittling Trump’s plan then keep talking your talk, but make it more specific please. Let’s hear your better alternative. And put some mustard on it.
