Both varieties

Those who know, know.

TDS — Trump Derangement Syndrome — is a real thing and has two varieties, Left and Right.

Those who suffer from the Left version see everything Trump does as the worst thing anyone has ever done. That would be true even if Trump cured cancer.

Left-TDS sufferers deny that TDS exists. They claim it was invented by the Right to thwart criticism. They are partly correct because…

Those who suffer from Right-TDS respond to any criticism of Trump with grinding-of-teeth and foaming-of-mouth. The words cuck and snowflake spew from their throats, blasting anyone who dares malign their Great Orange God.

Those who suffer from Right-TDS likewise deny that it exists. To them only Left-TDS exists, and anyone who claims otherwise is the aforementioned cuck or snowflake.

Then there are the rest of us. We fall into two general categories too. Some of us mostly like Trump’s policies, but have criticisms or reservations. Others generally dislike his policies but don’t feel the need to exaggerate how bad they think he is.

What concerns me are the at-risk people, those who seem on the verge of succumbing to one form of TDS or another. For their benefit, with only slight hope of reaching those who already have TDS, I’ve started posting the following on my social networking sites…

PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT

It isn’t ordained that everyone must suffer from either the Left or Right variant of TDS. Independent and objective thought is still permitted.

Of course, this sparks rage from both types of TDS sufferers. They demand that I prove TDS exists. They ask what my evidence is. I can only respond…

The source of my belief in both forms of TDS comes from living in the world and experiencing people. All of us who don’t suffer from either version of TDS have had years of experience now with the people who do have it. We know that those afflicted share a lack of awareness that they suffer from it. But everyone else is aware. Those who know, know.
