I kind of understand your criticism, but I was trying to construct a sentence that acknowledges the desire of most Palestinians to have sovereignty over the entire area. So, in this case, I did not use the word occupied in the sense you took it.

I very much agree that Israel is legitimate, and I do not even think they are illegally occupying the so-called West Bank. Nor are they occupying Gaza, which was instead a de facto Palestinian state.

I really think you should read the article. I think you would find my proposal and my arguments for it interesting.
